That's why it's so handy to have female friends. :D It's also easier since all my female friends know each other really well so it's even better.

I took my GF to London on her 18th (just about had some cash left from the 30 odd driving lessons, thanks to her 17th lol), visited the sights, stayed in a swanky hotel (ya know, the ones that feel way too posh and you feel totally out of place ;)), had dinner, etc. That went down very well and was a great laf. 2 weeks later, for my birthday (21st), she paid for a meal and the '4 poster bed' room in a lovely country hotel. Also excellent. I love November! Champagne and chocolate always top this kind of thing off. As it's her 18th, this sort of thing would be my advice.
Clothes are bad, till about 5 years in ....... sometimes ;) Jewellery can be just as dodgy imo, as if it's not 'spot on', it's a waste of time, in my experience.
