Does anyone know anything about these things? I was just looking through some car documents and an envelope containing these Premium Bonds fell out.

I remember when i was a kid my dad put some Bonds in my name, i checked the Bonds and they come to about £500 in total. But i'm confused - Can you actually cash in for that amount, or is it of a lesser amount?

Some of these Bonds have been going for close to 20 years without me relising.

Yes you can cash them in. You also have the chance to win cash amounts ( a bit like a lottery) so check your bonds against their register of winning bonds to see if you can claim anything.

Basically you are receiving interest but on a random basis.
