That links says it's probably leap-year related. I guess I'll leave my PS3 off tonight....

PS3brick? :p ;) :D Glad I got a slim anyway, couldn't handle having God of War 3 and no console to play it on!

i wonder how they are going to push an update when it can't get onto the psn..... i somehow doubt this will be fixed in 24 hours as they promise, i have a funny feeling it's going to be hardware related and will require a firmware rewrite.......

Well if it is the internal clock, it'll magically fix itself at midnight GMT. Then we can get an update to prevent it happening again. :|

They already have the facility to download the update as a file to a USB stick and plug it into the console.

Chances are that Sony will tell everyone to use this method to update the machine if they can't get online properly.

It is now fixed I believe.

Sony have upset a lot of people though. Working on a fix they say. Yeah right - more like wait till midnight & hope it sorts itself out.

Well it did sort itself out :p

If people can't find anything to do for 24 hours without their ps3 then they should sort their lives out :p

I'm sure they are working on a fix. The error still exists, they need to make sure it doesn't happen again.

actually, i was thinking last night, what's really annoying with all this is the fact that yo ucan't seemingly play games when not online, which sucks for single player games. Are they now insisting that you have to have broadband connected at all times in order to play.. Rubbish.

What?

Everything works fine now. You can play games offline.

You are telling lies, I came home and my PS3 had eaten my dog plus mom and pop! How can you call that working fine, it is Sony funded serial killing!

Didn't you see the American advertising campaign? "It only does everything". That includes eating your dog and family members.

I thought it was the usual Sony ads, pre-rendered crap that doesn't reflect the final product!
