pre order - local Game store

I went to Game in sweden and asked about preordering the game.

I also asked about collectors edition, they had some kind of preorder box for the CE which said "buy this and you are 100% sure to get the CE on release day" ofc those were already sold out so i asked if that meant all CE were "gone" and they answered they havent heard anything about all being gone or how many they were getting so they said i could have a chance of getting one if i put my name in for a preorder which i did.

after doin that i asked how it was with those head start codes, bonus item codes and such and they replied they havent gotten any info on those yet and it will probably arrive 1week before release and such.

so i'm wondering if anyone else had similar experience of if this store was just clueless?

also, i read that end of august you can buy a preorder box for SE and get headstart and such. so now i'm unsure, i guess i should wait until that box is released and ask again if they know if i'm getting CE box or not, else, if i only get SE but dont buy that preorder box i wont get any bonus headstart and such right? dont really wanna wait until few days before release date only to find out i missed out headstart, bonus items and all that.

My guess is that they were clueless.....

I picked up my pre-order codes in my local GAME a few days after Mythic announced the CE pre-order, so this '1 week before release' isn't right (maybe he/she was talking about the SE codes tho).

I bought my preorder CE at GAME in Sweden aswell, pretty early.

They called me some time after (not very long) and told me that I could come pick up my preorder box, containing the 3 bonus codes in a slim case.

Seems odd that we ordered the same thing from the same retailer and got different things ? One would think they'd have similar routines.

oh and btw theres been lots of question about what u get with CE, SE preorder this and that. Check the threads, u can't miss it.

Where did you try to "use" the codes to get into beta? There is currently nowhere for anyone to enter those codes yet. If you boughta CE pre-order box then you will get into Open Beta when that begins. Before that though GOA will are going to open a section of the www.war-europe.com website to allow you to enter those codes.

Im guessing you tried to enter the codes at Mythics account page aka warhammeronline.com, and that isn't the right page. (Assuming you bought the EU version)

It's vital to see the difference from pre-ordering a CE and actually buying the CE Pre-Order Box. What Game offered you was to basically put aside copy of the CE for you, when they get the final boxes in-store. This is equal to asking a record store to put aside a specific CD for you. This 'soft' pre-order is usually subject to availability and may or may not render you a CE copy. If successful, you will not gain access to the game until you have the box in your hand. Anyone who want guaranteed access to the Open Beta and participate in the Live Head Start program must have a CE Pre-Order Box.

EA Europe are responsible for communication with retailers. They have negotiated conditions with the different retail chains, who in their turn pass on information to their store managers who make sure their staff know the ins and outs of the WAR Pre-Order programme. As the case with human communications, there are often misunderstandings somewhere along the line though. If you believe you are being given incorrect information or false promises, ask to speak with management or contact the head quarters for this specific retailer.

Indeed, the SE Pre-Order campaign will start August 28th. A SE Pre-Order will render you Live Head Start access, but not Open Beta access. As to questions where to insert Pre-Order codes - the European Account pages for this aren't up yet. Our schedule is unfolding as planned though and we will announce more information on this in due time.

so, magnus, what if i on the 28th buy the SE preorder box, and input that headstart code into account, then at release buy the CE edition, will i get all the ingame items, and all the benefits of the CE edition except for the open beta access and maybe 1day less or so headstart?

or are the ingame item codes inside the CE preorder box?
is the SE preorder box and CE edition not compatible with each other?
