Power??

Well got my new kit up and running...for 15 minutes , now its shutting down periodically. Only thing out of place is the 12v supply on my power supply...asus pc probe sounds an alarm and flashes 12v up as using 13.2......so looks like new power supply..any recomendations? my current one is just 300w generic.

set up is

athlon xp 2600+
512mb 333ddr
80gb maxtor 8mb cache hdd
4 ts-tech cooling fans

everything else is rported fine in asus probe .....so any suggestions on fix or for new power supply will be helpfull.

Enermax make some nice units, newer ones are very quiet too.

urrmm...well...anadtech recently compared four power supplies and if I remember, also discussed measuring varaibility of supply-output performance (I think they used an oscilloscope or something)...anyways, the article is a beginnings...might be worht a look...includes enermax

don't buy the new q-tec range, as they advertise peak power not real power. they look cheap considering the wattage ratings, a 550watt costs about £30.



I'd get a chieftec 360w psu from overclock
