OK - System upgrades over the summer are likely to be:
Second (addition) hard drive
GF2MX --> Geforece 3 Ti200 (128 Meg).
Extra 512 MB RAM (2x 256 Modules I expect).

Currently the system is:
AMD Duron 800
Abit KT7-A
CL Soundblaster Live Value
IBM 40GB HD
DVD ROM & CDRW
56 K modem.
300 Watt (I think, could be 250) PSU

Basically, given the upgrades I'm going to be getting, am I going to want to account for a new PSU as well, say 400 W ??

Also going to be getting a USB scanner & Printer if that makes any difference.

Thanks.

make sure your Printer and Scanner are *possibly* the same make, i heard some Printers and Scanners which are from different manufacturers can cause problems.

300W is OK, 250 *Might* give you some issues as I see you have an older AMD chip! Which suck the power ;)

My advice is try it, if you get any probs get a new PSU!

Well if you want a new PSU, get a 431w enermax

I'm also on the look out for a new psu, I've been keen on the quiet 300watt over at quietpc for some time now, but never bought one coz

I already got a 300 watt the psu is supposed to be better than the one I have, but I was a bit concerned that it will suck once I get a faster cpu & gforce 3.

I've just noticed there is a quiet 400watt psu available, but it's very pricey at £100.

The question is do I get this or the enermax 431watt which is cheaper at about £80, which is supposed to come with a rheostat which can make it quiet, as much as the other psu (28 decibels) , I don't know, is it worth it worth the extra cash ?

Thanks
