Post DR Caster Template?

I'd be grateful for some help with my post-Darkness Rising caster template. Trying to fit in the Upsilon Staff but not sure if it's worth it yet.

Here's my current temp:

These are the stats on the Upsilon staff:

All Magic Skill +2
Power pool 5%
Spell damage 4%
Casting speed 4%
Dex cap increase 6
Acu cap increase 6
Power cap increase 6

My aim is to keep all my casting stats and bonuses capped and improve resists or hits. Think you can improve it somehow?

I think the staff is rather aimed for "classic" servers. Not have seen a good template with it yet.

It's a shame coz it looks cool but i think i'd also miss the Tarts power charge if I swapped it out

These are the stats on the Upsilon staff:

All Magic Skill +2
Power pool 5%
Spell damage 4%
Casting speed 4%
Dex cap increase 6
Acu cap increase 6
Power cap increase 6

Those are the old stats. The wizard TL has changed it to this:

All Magic Skill +3
Power pool 6%
Dexterity +6
Spell damage 4%
Casting speed 4%
Dex cap increase 6
Acu cap increase 6

All new caster staffs have power charge on them iirc. IMO for all its worth if you have a good template with tart then you aint gonna be worrying much about these new staffs all they are gonna do is make you look different.

Ofc if you can make it fit for better stats then go for it, personally I wont be rushing to make a new template unless DR makes current templates gimp which I dont see it doing.

Will post a template when I get the chance (@work atm) was working on a few although havent made one yet that has all casting stats capped and any other decent stats, always seem to be lacking in one or two areas a bit.

Thanks Alaron, had no idea. The increase to +3 skill and some more dex might make it easier to fit in.

I'm also experimenting with stuff like Crocodile Tears ring and some cloth rogs. Will try to post something decent tonight.

Tbh should be easy to fit in very smilar stats to Tarts already. Only missing 1% Damage, the Acuity and 40 Hits. With the Caps u can poss drop Immo ring and include a much higher Utility ring instead.

Scarp that idea it messes up the +% bonuses up a little have to redo most of template methinks

if you already have a cookie cutter toa template with all classic caster artifacts then the DR weapons are only a step back. If you make a new char and think about ToAing it then imo the new weapons are an option to consider as it is much easier to make a decent template with less effort.

especially as a pure damage mage you dont want to lose + spell damage and therefore tartaro > DR staff for classes like wizards and runemasters

This is my attempt and i may have even got stats on some items wrong :twak: I've checked tho and seems ok. Pretty much the same template except if you have DR Staff u lose 1% Magic damage and 5% Power pool. 1 off cap Dex and Int. So over all not a major difference just depends if u wanna run with Tarts or Upsilon Staff. Tbh unless your really bothered bout the look if u have the 1st template its not worth the bother.

Pretty much what I figured :/ Thanks for the attempt, seems DR staff is more of a pve item or for people who are not fully kitted out yet
