Well since this hasn't been brought up, i think i will make my first thread for about a month.

they are all mad, well thats my view anyway. Also if there is a conventional was, pakistan will get its arse kicked by india, i mean india has twice the amount of troop! Plus i was planning to go there during my gap year, and if they have a nuclear war i will be most unimpressed

If it wasn't so serious I'd be laughing my bollocks off. I was made redundant earlier in the year because the company I worked for decided to sub-contract our work to a bunch of Indian companies because it's so much cheaper. I bet they're regretting that particular decision!

Erm, the unfortunate likelihood is that should one side get any upper hand, both sides will disappear underneath mushroom clouds. Which is not exactly a preferable option for anyone.

On that note, I'd be expecting the Americans to do something irrecoverably stupid about ...... now. Actually, haven't they just sent Donald "Kill them, kill them all" Rumsfeld in on a "peace" mission?

As a general rule, no, the rest of the world (TM) doesn't think they know the consequences. Neither has signed up to a nuclear weapons treaty (Admitedly because they were conditional on the other) but the lack of direct communication between the two leaders (as there was in the Cold War) means that the consequences may be of little importance.

One of the most upsetting points about this, is that should the worst happen here, millions of people will be killed by the weapons whose cost has kept them living in poverty for decades.

India/Pakistan = nutters.

They are so hell bent on hating each other I cant see them making peace. Are they so blind as to see that the militant attacks are by idiots like Bin Laden (extremists) who wish to have war in the region and wish to have Pakistan or India destroyed in a war. Why would Pakistan (less troops, less nukes) send in militants to hurt India, when they know they would get blamed and India would try and start a war ? Its stupid, I dont think Musharaf is that stupid...

Definitely both sides need to look at the bigger picture and stop being such petty idiots. They should group together and crack down on the militant terrorists and cut the problem off at the neck.

The militants are just shit stirring tbh
