Port-Forwarding for ICQ

OK peeps, it's dumb technical question of the week.

I'm trying to configure my RT314 router to allow direst connection via ICQ.
I got telnet up and running, and in I go. Into SUA server setup, and set port 20000 to forward to my PC.
Then I went to ICQ, into the connection section, and set it to using firewall, no proxy sever.
Finally, I went to the advanced user settings, and set it to listen at port 20000 to 20000.

All this was guess work, brought on by the drugs the doctor gave me for my viral vertigo ;), and I'm sure I'm on the right track, but it still don't work. What do I do different to make it all work?

It all sounds right to me. The only thing I can think of is - although you have forwarded port 20000, have you allowed it through the firewall?

Sorted - had to set my machine as default server - nothing to do with port forwarding at all.

However, I've discovered a whole load of problems on my network thanks to tdc (for finding them, not putting them there, I think). Cheers for the suggestions though. It was actually hidden in the netgear homepage - should have check there earlier really. Still, you live and learn, eh?
