I've never really had this problem before, but my current shoes stink. Yes I clean my feet every day, and new socks each day, and I've cleaned the insoles, but the shoes themselves stink.

Whats the best way of washing them to get rid of the smell? I don't want to spray them with smelly fragrances if possible, I tend to run a chemical-free house.

Tom has stinkyfeet!

Don't they make odour eater insoles for that sort of thing? Never used em though.

leave em outside for a while or pour half a pint of febreeze in em - but if you have smell-o-feet then no amount of washing will change it rly :/

Probably the best idea, tbh. If you have one, maybe try hanging them on the washing line for a while.

... Smelly :p

No, I don't have smelly feet. They're nice and clean, no big chuffs of hard skin and crud or anything like that. I've never had this problem before, its just these shoes.

I fancy just shoving them in the washing machine, but I don't want them to end up looking like Sinbad's slippers.

It's the shoes. I have always worn leather shoes, but a few years ago I bought synthetic trainer-like shoes and they stunk. Made my feet smell awfull. Those have been the only shoes that have made my feet smell. Get some leather shoes.

I had just this problem with my latest pair of slippers. Hardly a problem at all with any footwear in the past, these were stinking within a month or so. Odour Eater type insoles cure the problem though.

I got given a thing called a shoe mouse for christmas, apparently its meant to de-smell your shoes, you just leave it in a shoe overnight (yes you only get one) and see what happens, Ive not tried it yet though. Can't seem to see anything on google about it though, ill have a look at who makes it when i get home tonight.

There's a greater trick and one of the best working in the known universe.

Put cat litter in them.

That's it, and it works like a dream.

Wouldn't that encourage the cat to piss in them?

If you have a pair of shoes/trainers that seem to get smelly easily, heres a tip, wear two pairs of socks, that way not so much of your smelly foot cheese will impregnate the lining/sole of your trainers. You can also swap out the insole for a non porus one, i.e leather (one reason why leather shoes dont get so smelly) might feel a bit weird in trainers at first but it works!

Chemicals, sprays etc only work for so long, they dont really solve the problem they just disguise it for a while.

Lakeland limited make it, if youre interested... not tried it yet either as none of my shoes are stinky enough to warrant it. :p

Primark sell socks with anti-bacterial agents embedded in the fibres. Might help?

Alternatively: sandals.
