Pole's / 2h question

im playing a sracen armsman and at 50 i should have before items/buffs exact same STR and DEX so i thought i'd go for thrust

the plan was to go s/s till 40 and respec to thrust pole

problem is, i've heard that pole is based on pure STR, so even tho im thrust, my damage is only based on my STR....is this correct?

if it is correct, is it the same for 2H thrust? STR only?


if so, id prolly be better off rerolling as 50 spec weapon style is useless to me if i stay s/s :/

Well 2h thrust is 75% str 25% dex so would be better, but pole is 100% str, you benefit more from 2h thrust, So 2h thrust if you want more weaponskill xD

2hd thrust is bugged atm tho and 100% str (either that or its a display bug)

its a tricky choice, i guess 2hd thrust and s+s are the main options..

keep in mind that 2handed thrust weapons are faster than poles in general, 5.0spd on warpick? (16.5dps) and 5.5 on partisan if you go for thrust pole.also pole styles are better than 2handed anyway imo.

on 50 with capped stats from items and buffed from a group cleric there wont be a realy big difference in your performance cause of your race

of course s/s and t/s is still a nice choise if yuo like defence, so is 42shield 50pole/2hand 39thrust/slash/crush (aka hybrid)
