I am been a pole armsman for all my DAoC life, but I got a question now, there is a style calld " defenders rage ", but to execute this style the target selected has to fumble....... does anny pole armsman EVER use this style ??? if so tell me how, because the following style " Defenders Revenge " has a stun, whitsh could be usefull in RvR, IF someone ever fumbled that is.......

That info is incorrect, you use it after your target uses a style. So no use against mobs, but versus mid and hib tanks it works very well :).

I used these styles the other day for the first time, and they are quite nice.
Rage adds alot of damage while revenge quite a bit (but less) and also a long duration stun.

question: can you turn around while stunned? And if not, would 50pole people be able to Rage->Revenge to stun, then go do the phalanx->wtf-ever-the-lvl50-style-is?

1.54 then it comes that you cant turn while stunned so tanks can pull of position based styles

You can do positional styles while people are stunned/mezzed now, they can just rotate their character but their facing doesn't change until the stun/mezz goes away. 1.54 disables the rotation.

Up until last patch it was when the enemy fumbled, but then it got fixed and its much better.

Those two styles are very very powerful, specially the long duration stun, its just quite tricky still pulling them off outside of a duelling environment. Although the back-up style system now does help alot.

The Phalanx/Defenders Aegis may be better then they seem, how often have you found yourself chasing after some coward in RvR who wont face you? If they turn and run hit them in the back with a Phalanx then use Defenders Aegis, which has a long duration movement reduction, finish them off with a Crippling Blow/Mangle, or Rage/Revenge if they try and face you.

Hopefully they will fix Poleaxe sometime soon so we no long have to rely on low level 18 skills like Crippling Blow/Mangle when we don't have openings.

I doubt they'll do that, many classes are forced to use low level styles for anytime-styles :(

Poleaxe is actually a mid-thirties style, its just utterly useless and in fact weaker then crippling blow in the long run, its the last no-opener polearmers get, with a high endurance cost and only medium damage, thats it, thats the lot, might as well use the level 18 style and get short duration movement reduction at less the endurance cost.

After many months of thinking about 44 Pole being a far as i will go I am now wavering on changing my mind.

Ive always thought how often would I use Phalanx/Aegis, but after hitting Optical in the back today whilst he was running from me I sure wish I had had Phalanx and the Aegis on my qb :(

Needless to say he outran me :(

Happens to me too, he's the reason I use Crippling Blow continously sometimes, but thats only a short duration movement reduction, not long duration like Aegis.
