Please help with Q3 connection problems

I have suddenly developed Quake 3 Arena connection problems, yet I have not made any changes to my system.

When ever I go online (to get my butt kicked ) I get the words 'Connection Interupted' flashing on the screen and a flashing box in the bottom right corner of the screen.

The box cycles between the picture of an RJ45 socket and a scrolling graph (similar to DU meter).

I have a cable modem. I have run some tests on the D/L speed of the modem and it's running as fast as ever, without cycling, so why is Quake3? My ping time starts at 700ish and slowly climbs to 999. Usually my ping time is around 40ish and has been for the last 6 months

Any idea's would be much appreciated.

See if Q15 / A15) Just after joining a game my pings quickly rise to 999+, it is definitely not my game settings as I have checked those at http://ucguides.savageuniverse.com/ConnectionFAQ/Faqs.htm is of any help:

Barrysworld server?

Hi mate, I had a similar experience to you. I discovered that it was only related to Barrysworld. I contacted BW and they said there was some problem with NTL cable modems connecting to them and that it would get sorted. Now everything seems back to normal.
