please help with "bots"

Ok, i play alot of Jail Break, and ofcoures I get whooped by the guys using bots that aim for them. So i would like to know where i can get one at....The name of the bot and possibley the sight to get it... Time to fight back!

First off you can get ICQ and thus an ICQ number HERE

As for bots I can only suggest two things.
1) Use servers that use BW-Admin so bot users are kicked
2) Find a less reputable gaming site coz we dont like bots here!

If you dont like being whooped by bots, what makes you think others are going to be pleased to be whooped by you with a bot?

we use ratbots at our lanparty for a bot challenge (kill the ratbot

)where everyone knows it's a bot and the ratbot does get around bw admin, but bots online are seriously lame and in my opinion a waste of phonebill money.
It would be nice though if bw fixed the admin to kick the bots off as its starting to get a bit silly on some of the servers, it's pretty easy to kill a bot oer two but when there are a few of the things it starts to get real difficult

Yea, is see your point YAYA! I'ts frustrating that there are so many game sights, or servers that allow them. So i just check in my game spy window wich servers do not allow bots......
And SPIKE, i get pissed also when i jump into a server and there is'nt anything i can do, i'm not goodenough to kill the bot ALL the time...

Yep, seems to be alot of bots around, it seems that this problem is getting worse by the day, i have counted a good 3 bots once on a server, so how can you kick them but using majority voting. Also one night it seemed to be battle of the bots on fury one night, one bot against the other.
I hope that there is a way out there to stop this problem once and for all, seems to me as infectious as variants of viruses. Seems to me that online gaming may change forever for the worse

Certainly the wrong way of combating this problem is to use a bot yourself when all around you are also at it, wheres the fun?

Erm. One little question...

How do you know they are running bots?

I only ask because about 3 months ago i ran a little test on a server i had setup.

Basically it had 16 players kicking the crap out of every one.. DM. 4 of them were using bots ( cause i asked them to)

I asked 5 peeps who were 100% sure they could spot a bot. Only 2 of them got 3/4. The other 3 could only spot one.

Some Bots ore obvious, like respawn kills, but again that is debatable. I been playing in a league match and been railed 3 times in a row as i respawned in our base. The guy wasnt using a bot, its just that he killed me, i respawned in front of him, killed me again and so on.

Q2 games have a fine line between Luck and Skill. I myself am not that great a player in LMCTF. I have good days.

But, In RA2, i consider myself to be pretty good. But most of ra2 is knowing the maps and being Skillful/Lucky. Where as in LM u need a tactic, you need to practise using the grapple etc. Big Diff.

Next time u see a bot or someone who u suspect being a bot, observe him/her.

the major tell tale is this

If someone rounds a corner and before their nose is past it gets railed/shot at.

Of If the bot shoots someone in front of them, then turns on a sixpence and shots someone behind them that is a good indication.

Then perhaps either a: do the vote Kick, or
b: everyone else join the other team untill they get so pissed they leave.

Its happened a couple of times on the LMCTF server... we did option b

24 vs 2 bots. they never stood a chance. and after 5 minutes vanished.

THEGUYVER- Thanks for the reply, and yes, i have noticed the shot then shot agian directly behind. I am not complaining of the respawn kill deal, that just bad luck in my court!
But i see what you are saying! After reading your reply, i would like to know how to do the vote for kicking the bot off. Also, I'm not the greatest player, maby avarage, but when playing in a bot regulated server, the point spread is usualy close, and i'm bout in the middle or so, but i have noticed in a non-bot regulated, there is sometimes one or two players totaly 30-40 points ahead, and always on the same team.(jailbreak) Thats not the total tip, also, me and the rest of the other team is fraged with in 5-10 seconds, from long range, before there ever seen. Posible good luck!! I'll give that to the good players that

Oh well, i'll just get better and better, playing agianst the bots. Iv'e only got about two months of playing online, so i'm still a new bee

FACT - BWAdming DOES work for kicking Ratbots

In a spate of half curiosity and for the sake of the league for which i help run, i thought id check on this. Promptly found a ratbot file, downloaded and ran it.
Went onto BWDM called [USING]RATBOT
(btw i did tell the bw lads afterwards)
and, like it should, i was refused entry due to a permanent phonejack icon, which it what it should do. It does work. Ppl you think are using bots, may, just, be quite good players. Ive been accused of using a bot several times, i take that as a insult, nor me or any <b>self respecting</b> q2 player uses a bot and has little intention of doing so.
Just thought i should clear that up.

fact!- BW admin did not kick rats last week or the week before, ive been told in the last few days it does so it must have been updated. The reason for the original post was to let BW staff know it didnt work (i also went to BW irc and told them there too, and emailed zarjazz to let him know). I wasnt trying to be funny or anything, just bring it to the attention of BW staff that the rat protection didnt work, now it does and we are all happy again (and less suspicious)

Well, I have been observing lots of servers, seems that only Bw use the Bw admin. Claranet, Fury, Demon. Ones that i use lots, have no real protection on bots especially ratbots.

Yep obsering someone that i have a idea who might be a bot, has the classic signs of the quick turnaround and frag signature.

I think that the bot situ is getting out of control, seems more common now that what it was a year ago.

As for the bots, find another place to play, cus we dont like bots on the zone either. Fricking lamers with no skills use them. Just turn on your icq program, your number is at the very top.

In my q2 days if anyone accused me of using a bot I used to take it as a compliment Mostly newbies or hpb's with shite connections, but I do remember my first game or two on q2dm8 thinking that some fecker was cheating cos he was flashing green and I couldnt kill him
