Play by Em@il....

Have just read promising reviews of the ne wHasbro range of play by email games. thinsg like spruced up battleships, to some version of Football (bizarre) and (this is the cool one) X-com... well, I think it;s nice.

Erm, however, two questions.

1) what is it like to play. Do people really have the patience for them? Do they get more intresting as you play, or do they die off?

2) I have also not noticed them around in shops. Are they readily available? or will I have to order it? also, is it 15 quid for all of em, or 15 quid per game?

Help!

BTW, I ask because pretty soon I'm gonna be stuck off from playing stuff like Quake etc on the net as it is too tome consuming. However, this sort of thing looks quite good, as it can be played over several days/millenia.

Thanks for any help.

Well I picked up the X-com game a couple of weeks agos and i think its good fun...

It's meant to be taken seriously, i tend to play it while i'm doing something else (irc, work etc) when its not a problem maybe having to wait an hour (or a day) for the next move.

The X-com game certainly has a surprising amount of depth and there plenty of tricks to pick up to keep you interested....

As for cost, they basically are £10 each but you only need one copy to play the game...
The second player d/ls a small exe (about 1 meg) which contains everything they need to take part...

I'd say pick it up if you want a laugh (and an online game you can play on a 486 with a 14.4 modem

And if anyone fancies a game mail me at matchstick@eidosnet.co.uk
