heh, how IS planetside?

Dunno hwo it happened but I was at the VN boards trying to flame people when I accualy clicked an ADD (yikes!)
Found myselves at the planetside webby, looked fun

Ofcourse I havent heard anything about this game other than some ppl in my DAoC guild trying it when it first came out. (was too into daoc at that time so didnt join the hype)

Anyone care to explain what sucks about this game since noone seemes to be playing it?

Im currently playing it along with DAoC.....

Its kind of okay at the moment, dont really need the new Expansion pack that bad, but tbh you need a friend to play it with. All outfits are demanding of the devils program "Team Speak" *sighs*

But yeah it is seeming c00l

what is it?

Iv read a bit around now, and there are 3 realms. THey all have diffrent weps for footmen and they have bigger guns that needs more players to control.

And its built around beeing a FPS but you gain stuff while playing like in a RPG.
How is this worked in?


Are there guilds and stuff?


Maybe Il have to buy it to find out ^^

Heres the official site.

Guilds are called outfits, you can squad up with up to 10 people then platoon up with them with the potential for a 30 man unit.

You go to terminals to pick up your kit its free and you can save "favourites" which will auto load your own specific kit instead of picking things one by one.

You exp by killing other people, its unfortunate but the best way at the mo if your a killer is to solo. By exping you achieve levels up to 20 and you pick what type of specialist you would like to be, air craft, heavy grunt, MAX unit, tank driver, infiltrator and so on and s'on theres many possibilities. There are no penalities for dieing except you must find the nearest spawn point and then get your arse back out. Its very instant action, and a nubbin noobie has just as much chance as killing the high ranked players as they do them, tho some skill climatising needs to be learnt before you can achieve this 1v1.

Its one of the best games Ive ever played heck Ive been playing it since close to launch and still am.

Downfalls: Need a superb pc to even think about playing it and then 1gig of ram. Its content is literally defeating the enemy theres no story lines no monstor bashing adventure.

Because its a sub game hackers obviously are banned or investigated and so on, hackers are the reason I stopped playing counter strike and even the latest tournament style games hacks come out very fast. If you get caught in this you get perma banned.
