Yep, saw this today. (that's 4 films this week!).
*****I WILL NOT PUT SPOLIERS IN THIS REVIEW********
I liked it a lot.
When Tim Burton says he was paying homage (re-imagining was his phrase I think) he wasn't joking! The basic structure is almost identical to old Chucks Heston's version.
The Apes were very well characterised and the story was fine.
The plot does all come together in the end and is really quite clever.
Tim Roth was excellent (BTW...look out for his dad in the film if you didn't already know).
I loved the Samurai(ish) gorilla and Estella Warren looked pretty tasty in her loin cloths.
Oh and the ending, now that was fine except for ......(SNIP)
VERY GOOD. - Go see it.
