Terrorist crash planes and it's captured by a gazillion cameras all over the place and with great picture quality. A baseball star crashes his plane and it's only caught by a cost guard camera miles and miles away.

The first one to hit the towers was only caught by a film crew who were actually filming a documentary with a crew from the NYFD - the second was caught by more because obviously they saw the first one , got a camera to film it, and caught the second..

Still.... I can't believe no-one has mentioned the giant blue death ray that seemed to hit the plane just before it lost control...

Terrorist crash into the twin towers and there's not a military jet to be found anywhere. A baseball star has an accident and NORAD dispatches patrols to most major cities.

As has been pointed out, the other one happened next to an event that was being broadcast on most news channels when it occured. It's one of the reasons the attack was as shocking as it was, I doubt it would of had nearly the same immediate impact if the two planes had gone in at the same time and not been captured live on film. I also imagine that more people used to film the twin towers than currently film an appartment block out of the way somewhere.

9/11 most agencies simply didn't have a clue what to do.. people using 747's as weapons wasn't something most people were set up to deal with.
People are always much better prepared the second time something happens.

I don't understand why private jets and other planes are not banned from going over the city. London you're not allowed you have to go down the teems (sp). Some American tit flying a plane in New York and doesn't even know how to use the instruments...

actually they are only not allowed to fly over the buckingham palace area, St James Park etc and also the city. They can fly anywhere else
