Im not brilliant with PHP, so looking for a lil advice.

I have a board at http://chronic.whoodoo.org with an up to date PHPBB2 running on it. Although in the admin, I have enabled "HTML Code" in the signatures section, and added "img" to the code list, in the profiles, its still saying "HTML Off".

Any suggestions?

I would use the PHPBB forums, but thats like looking for a needle in a haystack, and Im hoping someone else has had this problem here.

You'll need a host to put the forums on with PHP/MYSQL. Finding a free host with PHP/MYSQL is slightly tricky ;) There are sites where you can setup MYSQL databases for free, and so if you found a website host with free PHP then you could try that (Never done it myself though) although then you are relying on two seperate servers and it may be slower, although myself i'm not fully aware of the pro's and cons of that kind of a setup.

Best bet is to get some decent hosting although this will cost more,

A cheap alternative is http://www.freepgs.com - A $3 one off payment is all you need there and you get the whole bunch you need, unfortionately at times it is a bit slow, but hey thats what you get for $3 ;)

Once you've got a host, unzip the files and upload them - (Probably best to do this with an FTP client).

Then just follow the instructions that come with it, the installation file will probably either be an index or install.php file, maybe even in a seperate directory (Long time since i played with PHPBB) but hey yeah, thats pretty much it.

If you need further help feel free to ask ;)

If you can't be bothered with all the setting up of that, there are plenty of places on the internet where you can get various different free forums, Invisionfree, PHPBB, MYBB, etc. I could find a few links for you, although forums like this usually have adverts on.

Thanks, but we decided on using a self-coded forum :)

We have a server up btw, so the hosting thing wouldn't have been any problem.
