hehe I could get in [ARNIE] 'Trouble' [/ARNIE] for posting these, because I really shouldn't have been taking them while working, but hey, F1 for me is ancient history now :)

This is a rather narrow view from the top of a 32 metre hoist, on the Italian GP, 2001 I think. Try to imagine the whole thing gently rocking with your every movement, and the sense of being atop a huge whacking great big metal arm, held aloft by a tonka toy. It takes some getting used to, especially when the host broadcaster flies his helicopter 20 feet above your head.

This is the camera I was operating. The viewfinder is mounted on the near side (close to the camera), on the side of the tv camera. The lens on that is a 20x8mm, with a 2x range extender (so a max zoom of 320mm). TV and film lenses don't quite equate when comparing zooms, but its still quite tight for such a small lens.

that is quite high, i would love to do that, how you get into it? :|
