As im due to have a forced change of career soon, im thinking about making my hobby a profession. I was wondering if anyone had any experince of courses in photography and which courses would be recognised in the industry.

What kind of photography are you proposing to do professionally?

It really does have a pretty huge bearing as to which courses, if any, are going to help you get work.

Not really sure. Ideally i'd like to do some freelance work & sell hobby pictures if i can. But i'd like something full time and regular if possible to guarentee an income.

Actually, I meant what are you planning to point a camera AT? For example you're going to use different kit & techniques for professional wedding photography, automotive, fashion or macro work.

There's no point turning your hobby into a career and hating it because you've specialised in a bracket of photography which bores the shit out of you...

Journalist stuff would be cool. Weddings would make a nice sideline & i love shooting wildlife & landscapes in my spare time.
