Right well the rules aren't clear on panoramas, and a panorama is the only way (without an extremely wide lens) to photograph this bridge near me. This is composed of 3 images:

This bridge is the original crossing over the Roch River, outside Bury. It carried packhorse traffic between Manchester and Bury. I know not its age but it has been there since at least 1850. It was replaced by a newer structure about 100 years ago, and has been allowed to decay to this state. It's almost inaccessible, but I managed to find a way down to it to take a pic. I also have a HDR version but I suspect it will not be acceptable in this compo, given the rules?

Taken in the lake district. A dying tree infront of one of the lakes surrounding by life.

I think old red phone boxes are great, a rare sight these days; typically British. There is one not far from me that's been left to rust and rot, plus the local chavs have vandalised every last inch of it. Even then, it's been left standing in it's broken state to take further punishment.

It's sad.

This is what councils let happen to nice buildings. Particularly Bury councils. Most especially when it's a former municipal council town hall. They have a sound track record of doing it. :(

Unsure how long this has been here, but there was a lot of Roman activity in the area so the area is full of history. This looks like it has just been abandoned and left to the elements and the cattle that graze round about it. I wondered who or what lived in it?

Not obvious choices, some great pics.

I like bigbb's picture a lot, but doesn't say much about neglect to me. Tom's bridge picture absolutely nails the subject matter; I love the way the bridge has literally just left to crumble. Wazz's second picture is also great, I like tasteful use of B&W photography. Both great at the subject.

I will have to pic one and I pic Tom #1, it's well composed and hits neglect. My only criticism is that (as per the HDR discussion) I'd have used a polariser and/or an ND filter to balance out the exposure for the sky (although not sure how that'd have worked with the trees), or shot it at a different time of day. :)

Tom#1 for me too, i liked the little bit of history that goes with it. I did like Wazzer's as well cos i've seen that mangeld mess first hand, and its quite sad that they have just left it to rot away

But my vote is for Tom#1

Next subject - water. That can be water in any situation, bathtime, rivers, rain, puddles, drops of rain on something, condensation, etc.
