Photo Retouching & Restoration

Any idea where one could gain potential employment doing this?

Musing over possibilities for my future atm, and this may be one. Mind you it would be one that I'd love to do more than most.

This is the sort of thing I'm on about:

Not one of my best, but done quickly (an hour or two) for illustration purposes for this post.

Suggestions etc thanks.

Those eyes look to fake :D

As for employment try magazines but that may be a bit up market as such :)

Amateur pohtography clubs might also be worth a look for information etc

Yeah, I know there are obvious faults with it, but like I said it was a quick job done to illustrate what I'm talking about.

Hmmm Im not convinced you can make a sucessfull living from this unless you got yourself directly into the photography/modelling industry and even then it would be a long hard freelance slog.

I hope you prove me wrong though:)

Sar,

My dad works for the local newspaper here and this is where your talents may prove useful. I think they are always looking for this kind of employee to touch up photos for their print jobs.

Personally, I would try your local newpaper first or one of the regional papers.

Hmm, I thought newspapers didn't retouch or manipulate photos.

Maybe promo stuff though...

Ta Legster.

I don't know about all newspapers, but DC Thomson (where meh pop works) print magazines, flyers and what not aswell.

They take on a load of other jobs that also require photo manipulation.

My dad actually told me he had to retouch an image of this guy from home and away. I can't remember the boys name but he was blessed with the skin complexion of a diseased toad. Said it took him a full day.

Anyway, it's worth a try imo.

Speak to a makeup artist with regard to the 2 pictures in your post. He/she will be able to tell you how to 'apply' lipstick and eyeshadow.

It looks good, but the lipstick is a bit indistinct around the edges. Mind you, if you buy FHM, you'll be hard pressed to find a studio shoot that isn't touched up.

From what i seen around 2 weeks ago it was essencially functional, green light 'n all prior to them fitting it, its either behind the "kicking box" at the bottom of the phone box, or its mounted above the light.

but knowing BT NI, the kit would be live but the line would be turned off!
