hi, just wanted to tell all of u that Temple of Darkness is making a Battlegrounds grp. any examples of a good balanced fg??

3) paladin
4) reaver/merc
5) infil (easier to spot hidden enemies)
6) Cleric (rejuv)
7) Cleric (buff/rejuv)
8) Friar (fight/rejuv) or another reaver/merc/armsman

no determination insta-mezz shit in Thidranki and resists aren't that high there.

Wizards can do a nice job there ;)

get too much casters in you're group, and you become a v. nice prey for stealth gank groups.

much in longbow imo, rest in stealth.. to avoid the assasins. Or shield, so you can stun em, and run away ^^

For teh winz ofc...

Dont think about Ice Wizards, Fire Wizards for teh winz... Bolts kill most casters... DD's hit so hard tanks just go down so nice and fast...

i would pick one ice wizzie for close combat, and keep defense.


basicly you need 2 clerics (buffs + healing), 1 mincer (for speed, and secundairy CC), 1 sorc (primairy CC).

Rest depends on what you want. Theurgist is nice for pet spam (stun nme, while he runs away) and pbt. Wizard nice for nuking / bolting, EB etc etc. Caba for uber DoT (kills zergs).

For melee-ers, (if you want those) start with a pala. rest doesn't matter too much (friar is nice, infil aswell, but reaver and merc too).

We're talking BG's :p PBT == level 26... And you cant get stun-pets then...

Ice Wizards are only nice for Keep defense, why, because your enemies have bad resists... But so do you ! You get beat to a pulp in close combat even more then in normal RvR...

Rawkir, AE-dot doesnt stack... So, cleric, cleric, cabby, minstrel, 4x fire wizard would do better ;)

And unless your going above BG1, then a friar isnt 'that' usefull either, unless its 21-Enhance at 24... And friars suck at low levels... (and even then you only get 8% cold resist)

Even BG3 would probably be better spend on damage, but a casters life gets harder after BG1 (due to the many instants that you'll face then)...

If you go above BG1, then the 'tested' tank teams work nice... 2x Cleric, 1x Minstrel, 1x Sorcerer, 1x Paladin, 3x Offensive tanks... Which is (if you get some nice practice) a good team for 'actual' rvr too ;)

7 smite clerics (21s, 11r)

why?

you get DDs comparible to casters (the smite nerf didn't touch lower level spec DDs, and they now have a faster cast time).

you get pbaoe insta mezz.

your as hard as nails, your buffed! because of this your as hard to take down as a tank.

your hammer hurts, you do 50 dammage a swing (with dammage add) and enemy casters have under 250 HPs.

each cleric has an insta heal.

your aoe smite has 1500 range, and at this level it hurts too.

you get a 5 second stun, with some team work once you stun somone they will be dead before they react.

Though do remeber all these abilities only work in BGs, in real RvR most of em suck atm :<

once im able to renew my subs, look out for ikkleschmerf in thid :-p

If you want a full wizard group get a full body sorc get -15% heat and -15% cold at 23-24 body, assist4tehwinkrhxbye etc..

Heavy Fire Wizards group do not work well, to often Hibs throw in Range debuff spells, so your bolts become short range for 2 minutes. Also Hibs outdammage you in a bolt dual 9 out of 10 times, also insta mezz takes out all defence/offence you got.

Ice Wizzies got pbaoe they can start to cast with QC. Works in the end much better in melee range :p

But indeed the 7 smite + mincer group would work best.

the grp of smiters sounds fun but i want a mix of classes.
is a sorc better at CC? and do they get better pow reg?.
im trying to get potions for the grp too.(not buff potions)
we need some lvl 25-30 power reg potions. is there any intstant power reg potion?

we killed fgs :p

SC armor on the wizzies tho hehe

and the wizzies was hunting stealthers with the staffs aswell :p

I wouldn't bother with the mincer, you don't actually have to do much running in the BG.

2 Clerics (One full rejuv, one rej/enh)
Matter Cab
4 Fire wizards
1 Body Sorceror

Stay spread out, clerics stay well back and use the 2000 range.

One wizard is main assist - all wizards open with spec bolt, then follow with dds.

Sorceror uses fire debuff followed by body dd - sorc will need to stand in front of the main assist wiz. tbh the sorc is only here to add a little variety, in BG1, the fire debuff will only matter if the target can survive 5 bolts/dds. Which few can in BG1. Another fire wizard would also be fine.

Cabalist is spamming aoedot, the intention here is to cause panic amoungst newbies and prevent spell casting.

I see what you mean, but nearsight at that level is only 19%, and in my (limited) bg experience, the tanks are going to get owned anyway.

Going PBAoE is probably valid, but not really much better imo, espeicially because of your vulnerability to aoe-interrupt. At least the fire wizards can spread out.

Also, nobody has insta mez in BG1 bar skalds, and then only single target. And if they did, pbaoe would be come off worse than fire wizards, since fire wizards can spread out.
