Hiya,

was playing around a bit with Fraps to record some RvR-stuff.

Altho i set it to lowest settings, it gets unplayable.

I run a machine with an AMD2000+, 512 GB RAM and a Geforce 4200TI... for sure no uber-machine nemore... but still...

Any advice from peeps using Fraps on their machines specs?
What i need to run it more or less smooth?

Ive only just started to record but i run it at a p4 2.53, 768ram (pc266), radeon9800pro 128mb, hd is a standard 7200rpm (8mb cashe) and i record at 15pfs sec and run 1280x1024 resolution. Works well enough and i usually get 10-20fps ingame when i start recording, which is playable.

If you want it to run real smooth you prolly need a second comp and record on that via a video-out gfx card in the main comp.

AGP speed and GFX card speed seem to be the main factors, if you don't have at least a 9800 pro or fast geforce fx and AGP 8x support, you can basically forget it.

I can record fine with radeon9700 and AGP 4x with 1280x1024 resolution.
