People killing dye merchants?

Forgot to take screenies but I noticed whilst playing my alt that last night people were chainpulling Deirdra the dye merchant in TNN First I noticed that something was up when I saw a few graves in TNN and I was looking for spots where you could suicide jump from. Then I saw people nuking the merchant...

Seems she only dropped coins though, didn't see any dye drop

Must be a bug of some sort, she was neutral instead of friendly, and when I tried to buff her with my lvl5 druid I got the "You can only cast this spell on members of your own realm" message.

Aye, I noticed too, but she isn't really interesting, i heard that the exp isn't that good...

I'll admit to having killed Deirdra - once, just to see if the rumours were true She conned blue to me at level 40, was worth 6 million xp and dropped about 60 silver. Not outstanding xp, but hardly crap either. She also respawns in under a minute. I might have been tempted to camp her, but for two things:

It would have been exploiting a bug, and

Someone might have wanted to buy some dyes!

When she charges 30 Gold for Black Dye, I think she deserves to get killed tbh.

This is not intended to happen.

Killing merchants in TNN should not be done.

Yes, Deirdra is neutral, and is, in game terms, in the mob class, but killing her is grief play.

What would happen if, for some reason, someone kills her and she doesn't respawn? Then someone doing a lvl 600 trade task has to give an item to her? What are they meant to do with the 20g+ item they made? Sell it for less than they made it for, and waste the time they spent travelling to get materials and making it?

Guys, please stop this.

A better "can you hit her" test is to mez her then run out of the zone, then she's not dead.

Aye, don't kill dye merchants......but if you ever find a neutral healer...gank that robbing git all day. Bloody churchmen...they must be chuffing loaded.

The ones I fear are the wedding party in the inn by the east gate. They've bought enough weaponry off me to outfit all of Midgard, let alone a few pansy elves and lurikeen. If they ever turn aggro, we're all dead...

And as of this morning Dierdra now cons as being friendly, so I guess whatever made her so unpleasant the last few days has been fixed
