Sorry meant Wii :p

Im going to get an LCD screen in January some time.. Although it'll be nice on the Xbox360 im wondering how bad the wee will be?

I've been told that anything on it that is not connected via HD, will be quite blocky and basically, shitty looking!

Can anyone confirm this?

Im looking to spend around £700 max and would like to get something between 26" and 32". Do any of you have any comments about ones that you've bought within this size/price range?

Cheers!

Standard def connected through SCART looks like shit on an LCD, however you can buy a set of component leads and get 480 progressive which is alot better as LCD's are natively displaying progressive output. That said it is still a long way from high definition but it does look a damn sight sweeter than playing Wii on a normal TV or seeing an LCD butcher an interlaced signal over SCART.

I've just been thinking - what is the best way to connect up all my stuff to a HD LCD?

Say I got a TV with 1x HDMI, 1x component set, 1x VGA, 1x S-video, 2x RGB SCART.

I'd want to connect up my xbox360, xbox, and freeview box(which is SCART).

I thought it didn't. If I'm right, I'd go with x360 through component, freeview through scart obv and oldé xbox through your secondary scart. If you want your old xbox hi def too, just get a component switch box.

the xbox has hdmi?

Sorry I missed that you had a 360 and an old xbox. Connect the 360 via hdmi (if it'll take it. I know feck all about the connectors on a 360) and but the xbxo on the other RGB unless you can get a component cable for it.

I really am pushing this pimping thing, but....

Woolies HD TV's are cheaper.

32" silver Technosonic HD £399 http://www.woolworths.co.uk/ww_p2/product/index.jhtml?pid=50788169

32" Evesham HD w/t integrated freeview and 3 year swap out warrenty £549
http://www.woolworths.co.uk/ww_p2/product/index.jhtml?pid=50828141

32" Techwood HD £399
http://www.woolworths.co.uk/ww_p2/product/index.jhtml?pid=50824272

37" Techwood HD limited web only price £499 (usually £599)
http://www.woolworths.co.uk/ww_p2/product/index.jhtml?pid=50790688

The Techwood 32" and 37" are available in stores, the Technosnic can be ordered for delivery to store with no extra charges. The 37" from the webby works out to £525 for a 37" HD ready TV including delivery. I have ordered one and it will arrive next week, but have had a 360 connected to all except the evesham at work, all have a good picture and full range of connections.
