Well below is a rough guide to what appeared in this month PCPRO:

News

Spam costing millions of pounds a year.
P4 to exceed 3Ghz this year, maybe even make 4Ghz.
Memory Prices up by 75%.

P4 2Ghz+ Labs Test

Evesham Evolution 2.2 wins the performance tests with the following scores:

Overall Performance 6.00
3DMARK 2001 8,298

(Overall Performance figure is made up out of a number of different tests inc 3DMARK)

Overall Labs Winner went to the Mesh Elite, even though it's performance wasn't as good as Eveshams:

Overall Performance 5.09
3DMARK 2001 8,440

It had a more competitve price than the Evesham.

AMD Motherboards

Top spot went to the Soyo K7V Dragon Plus, not only did it come up with the best benchmark results but it includes heaps of extras like 5.1 sound :)

Honourable mention goes to MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU and best value went to the Soltek 75DRV2.

Reviews

Mesh Matrix XP 2000+ DV leads the way for the new Athlon XP 2000+ processor with an overall performance figure of 6.09 and a 3DMARK 2001 score 7,090, low 3DMARK score due to AIW version of ATI Radeon being used.

More can be found in this Months PCPRO, last issues stuff will appear on www.pcpro.co.uk ;)

hehe, get a room ;)

hmm, I think we actually have some pretty major developments for intel this month - those new northwood 2.2Ghz cpu's (22x100) are capable of running on a 133FSB with appropriate cooling (water, vapochill, LN2) - peeps have shown WCPUID's in excess of 3.7Ghz...

even if those yeilds are more down to luck than l33t skillz I'd be suprised if intel didn't start stealing some of AMD's spotlight over this - our testing sofar indicates that nearly any northwood 2.2ghz will reach 2.92Ghz with water!

w00t!
