Just seen Advert on TV, about PC - PC World are sellin, seems to be a high spec computer for £799.99.

heres the spec:

— INTEL PENTIUM 4 2.2GHz PROCESSOR
— 256 DDR RAM
— 40GB HARD DRIVE
— DVD DRIVE
— CD-REWRITER DRIVE
— 64Mb GEFORCE 4 GRAPHICS & TV OUT
— STEREO SOUND & SPEAKERS
— 17" MONITOR (16" VIEWABLE SCREEN SIZE)
— WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION
— STAR OFFICE

Now as i said a few times, i maybe sellin my Computer/s would that be worth £800?

And you think that you would be allowed to make future upgrades without invalidating the warranty?

Not worth it: build your own. The hardware used in PC World's packages are shockingly shoddy, your soundcard will most likely be onboard and utter wank. Hard drive, while having an acceptable amount of storage space will most likely have a low spin rate, and be unreliable. 256Mb RAM really is too little nowadays, and a PC with that much processing power but that little RAM seems a little pointless. Monitor will be shite, and incable of displaying any decent resolutions. DVD and CDRW drives will be budget, and poor performers. I'm a bit bored now, I don't think I need to go on.

Buy your own seperates, and build yer PC up. More satisfying, you can do what you want without having to worry about you warranty, and it will be cheaper, and considerably higher specced.

Well just to be arkward :)
I bought my last pc from pcworld on an impulse I wont go into here. I have to say it was completely reliable in every way, and was/ is a good pc.
However when buying the one I have now I looked further into it, and its the quality of componants that decides it. Ask the bloke in pcworld what make the motherboard is, you'll piss yourself laughing. No, although the one from Evesham is/was £500 more expensive, it is a considerably better product.

/ps, theres NO WAY Id build me own pc atm, Im far too lazy and incompetent :) I can build motorbikes , but theres no oil in pc's, I just cant understand it. :)

/pps if your skint and incompetent I bet that P4 would be just fine :)
