pc upgrade

im looking to upgrade my PC for around £300-£400, what im after is -

AMD XP (something above 2GHZ)
Good mobo
512 MB RAM ( speed depnding on what ever mobo is chosen)

anyone got ideas for that? i have not been keeping my self up to date on new stuff and now i got no idea about whats good and what isnt

I've just gone for one of the shuttle barebones systems, XP 2500+, & 512MB for about £336.

Though I will be scavaging hdd & GPU from the old system, and it's expandability (or lack of) may mean it's not for you.

If you want to just do a motherboard etc upgrade then I've heard that tha ASUS A7N8X might be worth having a look at.

If you can't buy for a couple of months i wouldn't bother looking at what to get now, there'll be new hardware coming out leading to price drops in existing hardware.
Much better to wait till you have the cash available then start looking at what to buy.
