one can never have enough ram
an extra 128 stick may suit you nicely
just make sure you can have it tested or something, before you put your money down. I don't really trust fairs for some wierd reason.

on the other hand, look at your peripherals to see if an upgrade there might be better use ie. mouse/keyb/printer/speakers etc.

With £50 quid you should be able to get 385Mb of PC133 CAS2 ram - thats what i paid for at www.crucial.com/uk coupla weeks ago.

you cant really get much else for £50.

If you had £105 you could buy a Athlon 1.4GHz (I was at a comp fai in Bracknell 2 weeks ago and thats what they wanted.

Yeah, maybe a better CPU. RAM would probably be cheaper off the net anyway. I have been to a few computer fairs and never really been that impressed by the prices, especially with memory. I don't bother anymore really. I bet most new kit at the fair could be brought cheaper on the net somewhere. But you can get some bargins though.

What do you use your computer for? what games do you play?

In which case I got ripped off, I brought 2 128mb sticks of RAM for 19 quid each. (256mb sticks were sold out).

Anyhow, Its increased my 3DMark score from 1300 to 1700, and that just makes me good.

It wasn't so long ago that I bought 128M for over £100!
Got 256M recently for £25 (plus VAT o' course).

At first i thought Pentium13, but thats just ridiculous, and then i read the l33t speak translation, PIE, but that dont make no sence either, i can work out most abrieviations but this one went straight over my head...

And as the sun sets over the horizon, yet another perfectly fine thread degenerates into a quasi-homoerotic throng

It reads as PIE but it's not supposed to make sense really. I just made it up one day for a laff and it took on its own meaning :)
