After abit of help with a spec for a my new pc.

Currently ive got an xp2000 , 1024 ram , 18" tft , radeon 8500 grahics.

System itself was great when i got it 2 yrs ago , problem is its been crashing alot on daoc lately and lagging heavily and its started to happen in any game i play , sometimes when im word processing. :(

Cant be bothered to spend £200 + on a new graphics card and for the problem not to be fixed as im unsure as to what it is
This is one of the main contributing factors to my extreme lack of RVR as its annoying when your in emain and crash every 30 mins or so at random times

So , what system have u guys got and would you recommend it , or recommend another system , also looking to get a monitor with a response time of round about 16ms ( mines 30ms atm ) whether that be lcd or go back to crt.

Been looking at the above system but wanted abit of advice before ordering it. Im not too clued up on D.I.Y systems so would probably prefer to buy a pre built system.

Got about £2000 to play with , give or take a few quid

Cheers

If you can afford all that then, yeah that looks pretty nice.

You might want to check though, that the motherboard has hyperthreading capabilities - if you will be running a 2nd account on the same pc then HT makes things so much easier.

You would save alot of money though by building a similar spec yourself however if you arent too sure what your doing, or dont have the time, then it might be wise to get what you listed

It doesn't. No AMD processor has hyper-threading as it's an Intel only technology atm.

That system is overpriced btw, for what is in real terms around a 5% to 10% speed difference.

http://www.meshcomputers.com/updated/review_apr04_mat64fxmax.htm @ £2183

I would personally buy a Xtreme 64-3400+ upgraded to 1024Mb memory and a Radeon 9800XT @ £1883

BTW I'll give you £20 for the 30ms TFT :) j/k
