used to get PCGW before it was wiped from the face of the earth. Was quite well written and I tended to agree with the reviews. Since then my subscription was "upgraded" to PC Gameplay which is also well written but is soo fucking cluttered.. will bear with it a little longer though, reviews are detailed and at least give some scope for individual interpretation (e.g - "I know I don't like the sort of game they are describing however good it may be in it's own right").
On the non Games side I have occasionally picked up PCPlus which has always been solid.
- I one foolish moment of trying to take an intrest in Linux I bough "Linux Magazine" (came with a full version of Mandrake 8).
for £5 the mag was floppy and there was muchos wasted space and nothing for the beginner. Didn't fill me with confidence about even looking at the cover disc in the end. :/
I am subscribed to PCG. It is far better than PCGW was (I got about 4 copies of that before it vanished) and I think it is better than PC Zone although that may just be a matter of taste. I find that it is very clear and sensible in its layout. It is also very funny. PC Format and Zone just seem cluttered and disorganised to me.
