PC keeps Freezing but only in games :/

hi, can anyone help me pls, my pc seems to freeze but only when in games

i have a

AMD 1800+
windows XP
256 Ram
GeForce4 MX440 64MB

duno how to check anything else lol

its been happening since i intsalled new GFX imo , ive tried everything reinstalling windows etc but nothing

was mentioned somewhere that i could adjust something on gfx to stop it over heating , dunno what tho

can anyone help me pls?

I'd probably go with wij and say you have a shite psu, probably 230w anyway you can check?

I'd go with overheating...but thats because it happened with my first self-build. I thought you filled up the slots from AGP down...how was I to know you shouldn't put something in PCI 1, blocking all airflow from the graphics card?

My first evah PC.

I thought building it was pretty brave, all things considered. That locking was my first ever technical problem.

Cooling isn't the reason you shouldnt put things in pci 1

Yeah, I know that now, but it is the reason why my PC would lock totally during gaming. I've learned a lot since then. If you had asked me at the time what an IRQ was, I'd have looked blank.

Yup...I'm doing complaint calls at work...they are fun, but you only get one every 30 minutes or so.
