Game was released with dx10.1 (the new more efficient version of Dx10)
Only ATI cards currently do this, Nvidia's cards were having real problems with it
They are now patching it out as a result there will be no current support of dx10.1 (Ati cards which do support it take a considerable hit in performance)

The article incinuates Nvidia leant on ubisoft to remove support

you can't really knock them for it, they have built relations with these companies by providing alot of support in development etc..
ATi should be doing the same thing and giving more time to developers to tweak games to work on their hardware at their best
How many games have you seen with the Ati logo since half life?

I dont agree with their underhand methods tho, but then thats business i guess

Quite a nasty trick for Nvidia to do tbh... I'm not a fan of ATI although if Nvidia truely are starting to do shit like this I may return to ATI.

can't someone upload a vid about this shit?

so nobody likes ATI, but he is more popular than Nvidia who has been naughty (and gay aswell according to some post above). This may turn out to be a big drama, because Nvidia doesn't like Divx10 either, who used to be a friend of them both?

im confused

Why? all that means is you have to play games with a buggy card. You want to buy the card which comes from the company who are the bullies.

Ain't gonna stop me from buying nVidia!

Used to be NVidea, never had a problem... built new machine and the GFX was fucked when I transfered the card. Probably got hit by static somewhere as someone was moving it about when I wasnt in room :(

So went ATI with 9800pro. Was a solid card and ran most things, but it kept crashing out of some games, especially daoc in agramon :(

Now back to nvidea, with a 8800GTX and love the card. No problems on any games and Assassins Creed looks lovely (i dont use vista though :) ). No card from ATI can really match Nvidea top cards currently, especially when you include price comparisons. Also Nvidea cards more or less guarentee compatibility with every game as they have so much influance in the market. Dont think I be going ATI anytime soon.

The 9800 cards may probably be the best graphic cards ever made, they were running new games on high graphic for 5 years :worthy:

Vodoo cards rox!

All the manufacturers have had problems over the years. Worst issues I ever had where ATI drivers 9800 Pro card, absolutely shite. To the point where people were writing better drivers in open source that actually worked. ATI took 12 months to sort those issues. Not something I wish to go through again.

Nvidia for me at the moment.

nVidia had huge problems during the 4000/5000 card series, I mean their toprange 5000 card was released at the same time as Halflife 2, and you couldn't play it at all with it.

If you use HDTV's Nvidia is dire, i swapped my 8800GTS for a 3870X2 because of the lack of dual screen support, the entire 8800 range cant render 3d/video etc.. on both screens, equally you cant even have 2 monitors and have it running in sli

It's also ironic that people are complaining about ati drivers when Nvidia had AWFUL driver problems when the 8800 range was relased so it is swings and roundabout really.
Ati give them every month, Nvidia have been on the same official driver since 2007 until the one they released a couple of days ago which is nothing but a bug fix

Now Ati have had their fair share of lemons i do not deny, but the 1900 series was THE best card i have ever owned in terms of support/features/speed for the time (yes i have owned a 8800 GTX, kind of regret selling it and going with a GTS now due to Nvidia's naming scam)

But Nvidia are increasingly going down the same path as 3dfx, of aiming for the performance crown, f*** the customers
And we all know how that ended
