PBAE Radius question.

How does PBAE work if it says: "Radius 300"

1. Is that 300 around you so that it is 150 range in front of you?
2. Or is it 300 in all directions from you?

well its radius from caster so i guess its 300 from caster.

Did you mean that as the answer number 2?

radius is the range in all directions...the other one u asked about would be cross section dimension.
(i looked that word up, hehe)

Nah first of all the answer is 57 ! And if its not 57, then it sure as hell isnt 24 either, because if it was near 24 it would be 19 and not 24...

But thats besides the point ;)

I think it works like 'normal' AE does, e.g. 150 (I think) around you, making the total radius 300... I think this is about similar on how AE works (the target you AE and 150 in all directions around that target)...

Did you mesure it with pie lenghts or is that just a fact Eble ? :p

If it was 150 from caster then it simply wouldn't be a radius, it would be a Diameter.

Radius is a dimension from the CENTRE of a circle, assuming the caster is the centre, then it has to be 300 in all directions from the caster, otherwise Mythic really need to go back to school.

Incidently, im an engineer and deal with radii and diameters everyday lol.

Kagato thanks that cleared my mind:clap:

Now that you say It I remember the things I learned about diameter and Radius in school;)

sure the answer isn't 42 ? ;)

Someone once told me that's referring to the size of the proc effect - ie the bigger the radius the more spectacular it looks. Not sure if there's any truth in that or not though.

radius says it all :) radius = from centre of circle out
diameter = from edge to opposite edge edge

radius = from centre of circle out

more accurately:
Radius = distance from the center of the circle to any point on the circumference. (circumference=the distance around the circle)

diameter = from edge to opposite edge edge

more accurately:
Diameter = the longest distance from one end of a circle to the other, passing through the exact centre. (if it doesn't pass through the centre it is called a chord)

he he, sorry couldn't resist being anal :)

Sor spudg... I dunno... never thought about it...

IMO it´s 150 radius 300 diameter... coz the mez´s 350 radius... so it means... erh... I´m confused @,@

Dunno how the game mechanic works... but imagine that pbaoe with the radius above healer´s mez and below bard´s mez and as 34 mind spec sorc... hope I haven´t confused u even more... if so forget me >,<

Who ever got caught inside pbaoe´s free 4 any CC, and if some pbaoer does it it´s usually V lucky and tricky or just last resort...

It hurts... but u must know how it works, otherwise it sux royal time :)

Hmm it seems more likely that it is 150 radius and 300 diameter.

I guess mythic thought radius was the same as diameter:D

Don't need to mention that it passes through the centre...

it's just the longest straight line distance between two points on the circle.
Corollary 1: it passes through the centre :)

Irritating. Why do they name it radius if it isn't radius.

If this is the case, Mythic are just plain dumb, as its not a Radius then but a Diameter. You'd think they'd of fixed a simple display error like that long ago, all they need to do is change the text to say 150 Radius.
