Found that out tonight the channeling damage aoe was good now its hide and fight. If they wanted Necros to be a pet class they should work like Cabas in DAOC mobs fight your pet untill you cast or heal.

Tempest's AoE damage got hugely nerfed, but they buffed the single target attacks. So weaker in PvE and arguably stronger in 1v1 PvP.

Strange change and it doesn't really help anybody. Just means the Tempest will level more slowly now and probably reduce their numbers and people look to re-roll.

A victory to the whiners I guess.

In order to keep up my levelling ability I'll probably have to do a respec and lose a lot of my team assisting feat skills... Silly imo but whiners always win in MMOG's. Rule number one of the genre.

Not really a huge nerf considering they don't have a cool down on Lightning strike.

Necro is supposed to be a DPS class yet i cannot out dps you at all.

I love being 3 shotted my some TOS 3-4 lvls lower then me and i can't do jack because he casts that silly root so i can't cast/move at all and i am dead before the root wears off.

You being a TOS i have no sympathy for they are a stupidly overpowered class.

Don't yell OP all the time when you hardly know its meaning. Makes you look like the whiner you are.

I love yelling overpowered and calling on the Gods themselves to nerf those twating TOS into the ground.

POM got what they deserved now only a matter of time before TOS comes into line with everyone else.

Maybe just maybe i will see another class on the server besides the 2 above.

After a bit more playing i still do not like it but i have maxed out hiding and now just kill everything with no chance of death i was chain killing lvl 29 mobs as a lvl 25 yesterday while stood on top of a building at no risk at all. Its a silly way to level and the fact mobs do not aggro your pets seems abit dim i can send my pets to kill mobs sat in a large group one by one. I should stop comparing it to DAOC pet clases really :)

But the term OP means original poster :D

Indeed it does, however it doesnt mean that exclusively.

OP is used by a few people to abbreviate the term "overpowered".

Another use I know is to abbreviate optical art which is a method of painting concerning the interaction between illusion and picture plane.

Or the short form of osteoporosis, a very mean disease of bone.

If you are into tea, you might know op for orange pekoe as a term to measure the grade of tea by the size of the leaves.

And if you are a true nerd, like the waynes world hint in another thread would lead me to believe, you might know a true titan of popculture, optimus prime.

Yes...the nitpick is strong in this one...

Ahh this old chestnut :)

If you are referring to the specific dicitonary definition then maybe your right, but the term OP as used in mmos for years now has developed a slightly different connotation than the literal definition.

In this context "OP" does not necessarily have to mean "overpowered" and even when it does, it can be considered a colloquialism to express a certain aspect.

A more accurate phrase is probably closer too "overly powerful" which can be abreviated as OP. There, fixed, OP = Overly Powerful, happy now? :)

Ah but we are on he internets and on the internets gaming forum, and as such, OP refers to Original Poster(Not optimus and even less to rodimus!) while the correct term for overpowered, if wanting to shorten it, would be imba :D

Yep boring game to play really doing that isn't it?

The only time i ever come out of hiding is to do Unholy Hands which is a 1-2min cool down AOE.

Anything is not worth the button press.

Ah well Thursdays patch is almost here should be interesting..

EDIT

OMFG they are removing the hide/attack feature if you send pets in now you will decloak automatically yet not word on a TAUNT for pets either.

Also why don't our class have a viable CC TOS for instance they have some sort of root/mez that stays on while they nuke you to the ground most other classes do also.

Also why don't our class have a viable CC TOS for instance they have some sort of root/mez that stays on while they nuke you to the ground most other classes do also.

Our root breaks on damage, we have a stun that can be feated to not be broken on damage. But don't let facts get in the way of all the uniformed hate, it is too entertaining.

Ah but we are on he internets and on the internets gaming forum, and as such, OP refers to Original Poster(Not optimus and even less to rodimus!) while the correct term for overpowered, if wanting to shorten it, would be imba :D

I highlighted the important part. ;)

BTW, if you talk to some wow-kidz, you might find out that they use the term "imba" differently from us normal folk. For them its a synonyme of "very good" like in "Look at my imba new shoulderpads!".

I think we have a winner for the "troutslap-or-the-day" award.
Grz mate.

Why thank you :) I guess it would have been better if I had spelled "uninformed" properly though :p

In breaking news AoE ToS specs receive another huge nerf with core changes to active blocking. Combined with Tuesday's change they just made AoE grinding for ToS' just about impossible ... yet they've not added any new quests, just slowing down the levelling grind.

I'm seeing shades of plenty of other games full of bugs and lack of content here, my finger is hovering very close to the cancel button.

Expect lots more ToS levelling to 80 to be specced for single target/max PvP damage spec ... unless they're just abandoned altogether. A lack of healers in the game will have a huge effect on everybody in the long run.

Shortsighted knee jerk changes that only serve to slow down levelling and appease whiners.

I think the change to active blocking was reasonable. Having passives keeping you up and downing your opposition while you do nothing but block is cheesy. You will not generate incentive to group up to grind with that approach, lets see if that changes once solo-massive-farming is no longer possible for any class.

However I think the AE nerf to ToS was a bit over the top, tho I wouldnt go so far to envision a lack of ToSes any time soon. Them and PoMs seem to make about the half of the server population. ;P

If you lose interest in the game you should cancel your sub and see if you can have more fun somewhere else. Check out the game in two months and see if you still dont like it. Very reasonable IMO.

One last thing, since tainted soul (?) have erected the first battlekeep and at least 3 other guilds very close to doing the same, I suppose the frontiers will get populated rather quick _IF_ Funcom can iron out the worst massive pvp related problems soon. Lemming wins, geometry issues, siege engines and zonelag come to mind.

I ll give them the benefit of doubt, at least they got one fix (couldnt attack a keep if you already owned one) in today, so lets hope for the best. :)
