Not sure if anyone has heard about this RTS but i completely forgot it was coming out and i saw it in GAME.

Anyway its set 65 million years ago where you're troops are Dinosaurs and Humans, the game looks gorgeous from screen shots i have seen and i'm about to play it :)

Here is gamespots little section it hasn't had a review yet as it came out in Europe a week early for a change.

I didn't realise it was an RTS, will have to check out some reviews and see if it is worth getting.

There is 1 review 85% but i don't know if the website is credible or not but the game seems good atm time will tell once the honey moon period wears off.

So been playing for a couple of hours did abit of single player and then went online had some great battles so far the 3 different tribes have their own units/buildings/skills etc.

I was the Dust Runners tribe, my Dinosaurs consisted of huge towering Brontosaurus's and those dinosaurs with the big club on the end of their tail+plus raptor handlers and Steggasaurs

There was also this crazy kamikazi unit which consisted of just 1 guy i sent him to attack and all of a sudden he releases hundreds of snakes which kill him and then start attacking everything else.

Not sure what tribe the other guy was but he had Wooly mammoths and other creatures i can't describe.

You're units start out very basic but later on you can upgrade them and you can see the armour plating on the dinosaurs which was pretty cool, this goes for all you're buildings too which can be upgraded.

I saw a total of 9 hero units i could command but could only afford one, each hero brings a special unit to you're army that you can make + other factors such as cheap building etc etc.

The Army Controller Interface is a nice idea it gives you total control of ANY unit ANY time.. no more looking around the map for that unit you can't find just bring up the Army Controller Interface and you can find him with a click of the left mouse button.

If you're looking for something different instead of tanks and planes all the time this is a pretty good RTS.

Sounds pretty generic, anything that makes it differ from the typical hero focused rts ?

I think you can only have 1 hero unit and they are very EXPENSIVE.

The game doesn't do anything ground breaking but its fun.. there is a demo download out and its multiplayer too try it :)

Are the hero units any good?

The thing that bothers me about dawn of war atm (not Winter Assault) is that the hero units aren't overly vital. Don't get me wrong they are decent, but not in a "omgz protect him at all costs" type way.

Depends how you play, if you are playing multiplayer and use assasinate victory conditions, then your hero becomes all important.

Never heard of this Paraworld until now, it's going to have a tough time competting against the release of CoH.

Yes they are good but they are no match for the 'Titan' Units they all bring different things you're army for example.

Ada a female bow girl slows enemys in her area and brings in a new unit to you're army and lots of other benifits to you're army which are too long to describe.

Cole a nut job with a shot gun and 2 swords gives you're infantry more HP and a new unit.

Haven't had much of a fiddle with them yet as i'm getting used to the other units in the game first.

Gamespot did a nice peice on it a while ago and IGN did a multiplayer peice on it at TGS.

Whats CoH?

In the all-important teir1 combat a properly used commander can turna battle easily. Commander armour can soak up normal teir1 firepower all day and they usually have disruption abilities. The Force Commander will knock whole squads onto their arses while your marines are still plugging away at them unchallenged. The Farseers psychic storm can practically wipe out a whole squad of Imperial Guardsmen.

Of course they aren't half as vital in later teirs but that's what teching up is all about. It's an RTS not an RPG, but you do get the Super-Units late on instead, like the Bloodthirster demon and the Eldar Avatar.

Anyway, like Ch3t, my next RTS will be Company Of Heroes too, although judging by the demo it doesn't feel as much FUN as DoW and how can it compete with 7 races ? I don't have time to try another unless you can convince me it's the bestest RTS ever...

Company of Heroes is a better game on so many levels but I do agree about the variety because of the races DoW has, Relic really missed a trick there. They could have easily added Italian, Japanese, British and Russian units for skirmish mode.

I loved DoW but the Eldar nerf annoyed me so i didn't bother playing it but it was a good game that i enjoyed my time with.

I really want Supreme Commander.

WW2 has been done to the death and i refuse to pick up another game based on it. I like games that come from the imagination like Paraworld and there is a game called Spore i am really interested in.

The latest patches and WA have balanced the races a lot more though, worth coming back to with Dark Crusade expansion around the corner.

On second thought Company of Hero's looks pretty cool too bad the multiplayer is plagued with problems from what i have read on the Gamespot boards.

Hope they sort it out because with the environment destruction the game looks pretty awsome.

I won't even come close to running CoH. I'm still a DoW novice, it's my first RTS and I love it so far.

So much to master I don't know where to start half the time :)
