This is not a whinge just a query on Paladins' hit rates. I have 4 lvl 24 characters (I like Thid), a merc, scout, infil and wizzy and am currently getting a Paladin to that level..currently lvl 23..and it seems to me that out of all these classes my Paladin has a much higher percentage of misses when attacking...has anyone else noticed this please or am I just being a bit paranoid? It got so bad in Keltoi that I counted the misses on two occasions against yellow banishers and one against a visionary and found that I was missing, on average, about 1 in 3 to 1 in 4 of my attacks,,,I then took my merc and infil down and their percentage of misses against the same yellows was way below this. I don't think my paladin to too gimped,,chants maxed and crush at 17 or 18 and I did this counting because I could not believe I was missing so much. Your comments would be appreciated, thank you.

Thank you for your replies...my Paladin has decent dexterity, boosted by jewellery etc so not sure if this is why. With regards to weapon skill, I thought this only affected the damage percentages,,,though if it affects the hit rate also, then perhaps that would explain it.

Just take it to an Enchanter NPC and he will add a bonus to it - for a fee, of course. The level of bonus depends on the level of the item, but an arcanium weapon will typically receive a 35% bonus.

Miss rates drop drastically after weapons are enchanted in this way.

You can actually ask spellcrafters to do the same job for less money, but it involves messing about with dusts and not all spellcrafters know how (or want to be bothered).

You sure raevers are on that table cause the reavers I know all hit like doubledeck busses

I posted this on Prydwen crafting forum some time ago, but might be usefull here too ;)

2 methods of enchanting (well, 3 as the 3rd one is by an Enchanter ;)):
- Appraise your item at an NPC. Buy dust equivalent of 20% of that value. Imbue dust and item. Enchanted.
- Go see how much an Enchanter charges and buy dust equivalent of 55% of that price. Imbue dust and item. Enchanted.

I've heard that house-enchanters are cheaper, so the 55% dont apply to them.

Dust is usually on the 3rd page of the SC NPC ;)

Dex has nothing to do with your chance to hit unless your weapon's are 50% dex/str then the Dex would add to your ws. The more ws you have, the better your chance to by pass block/parry/evade rate's meaning you hit more.

As for The miss rate, that is purely down to the style you are using with a high to-hit modifer < in PvE> and in RvR it's down to the Defence of your Target + your 5% base chance to miss modified by your to-hit modifer which if a high to hit will mean less chance to simply flat out miss.

Summary = More ws means you hit harder and more often generally xD!

I hope that wasnt too confusing :m00:

2handed paladin was by far one of my favourite BG classes, decent positional moves after you have enchanted your weapon I think you might be pleasantly surprised with the toon. SnS is a lot better for general PvE tho
