Go 2 Handed until level 20 like what I did, you can respec then. (If you want to decide)

Problem with 2h pala is that it's not as easy to twist chants and get your best styles off. For a 2hander you want to be using your positional styles for best effect, whereas if you spec S/S you'll end up twisting chants and using spamethyst slash (the lvl29 slash style) most of the time which is much easier.

If you really wanna go 2hand, then an armsman is a nice option. You'll do more damage and since you don't have 4 chants to twist you can run around to get positional styles off ;)

Tons of advice on specs tbh

One thing is essential - chants to around 44-48.

Me I am going chants 48, shield 42, slash 29 (might go to 34 undecided atm) and the rest parry (30 or 18 I think if I got 34 slash). This with my plan of Mob2 mop2 aug dex2 aug str2 aug con2 should give me a nice set up once I get thru the realm ranks. :)

I would decide what it is YOU want to do with the character and then spec accordingly. Just bear in mind that more serious players may consider you a gimp and be unwilling to group with you at end game rvr if you go 2h.

Having said that - I think there are so many ppl who play in alb getting a group with a pally of any spec is rarely a problem, pve or rvr.

Cheers

Only n00bs are amy4tehboore, use riposte whit amethyst as backup (after the use of many enrage and heal chants to get the aggro), and if u are a pally u cant do positionals in PvE, full stop, u are the aggro holder, and aggro holders fight in front of mob, not in side or rear. The 2H pallys cant use their best combo in PvE whitout another pally in group, and whit another pally in group better invite a 2H armsman to land REAL dmg.

Interesting, that's a nice spec apart from the low parry. I skimped on slash and slightly lower chants to up my parry a lot - takes advantage of 2h parry bonus.

I might give something like that a go if I get a respec.

Paladins have just as many buttons to use as Minstrels...possibly more with the gajillion chants availible. Roll a chanter/ice wizzie if you want a hassle free life. ;)

Aye.. I have 2 quickbars, as many as for my minstrel. Admitedly I only use 1 or 2 of the buttons on my second Qbar (Rez+Personal AF shield).

With a good minstrel setup you don't need to swop that often. I think I have-

Amethyst Slash - DD Shout - DD Shout - Stun shout - Power Song - (something I can't remember) - Mezz - Flute - Drum - Sword (Equips shield as well now)

All the Heal, speed songs with stealth and AE mezz are on my 2nd bar as I don't use them that often.

So you think Minstrels button klicking is a pain?

And playing a pally with the 4 chant twist plus trying to style and slam etc etc is not? :great:

my pally spec is

sheild 50
slash 29
parry 17
chants 46

and i just (well 1 hour ago) beat a lvl 50 2hand pally and he only got about 2 hits on me.

but my preference is to be defencive coz if you want offencive go make a merc or arms imo

50 2h
34 slash
38 chants
25 parry
9 shield

works fine for me :)

(and please dont start this thread in a 2H gimp thread)
