Im having problems with the lastest version of Q3.
Everytime i go into a game i have to set my gfx settign again (filtering, etc)

its getting on my nerves...
any ideas?

Everytime i quit it just goes back. Then i have to do it again next time im in the game.

Maybe someone has the main gfx commands so i can stick it in a autoexec?

Maybe ...

Set it all up, goto to the console and type:

/writeconfig blah.cfg

then add:

/exec blah.cfg to q3config.cfg.

/me shrugs.

Make sure that you havent made your q3config.cfg into a 'read only' file. Some ppl have suggested this in the past as a method to solve some bizzare bugs from certain versions of the q3 patches. If it is 'read only', any changes you make in-game will not be written to q3config.cfg, therefore u will find that it wont remember your changes.
If this is not the case, presumably you are adjusting the gfx settings withing q3 using the menus, rather than typing commands manually into the console?
If so, tell me what you are changing to get the settings to that u want, and ill tell you the lines that will do the same in a .cfg file.

ditto!

this was driving me nuts, it turns out that i was overflowing the cvar buffer so it never read the config file back in again.

i got round this by moving most of my "scripts" into a temp config file, which i exec each time i start up.

does anyone no how to increase the max cfg file size ? i no you could on q2, but on q3 ..... ?
