Even if it is a mistake, they're advertising it like that therefore they have to sell it to you at that price. Bargain if you ask me.

Or at least, that's what applied to anything priced wrong in the shop I used to work for, I assume it's standard trading standards stuff.

Yeah, otherwise you could just advertise things for 99p and say "Oops, sorry, that was a mistake, it's actually £200".

Mank : not actually true.

Any tradesperson can advertise an item at whatever price they want.
They are not in any way obliged to supply the goods at that price.

Having experience in this field (anyone remember the Foris shiney new laptops for 80 quid fiasco), there are clauses showing that "mistakes" are rectifiable and goods do not have to be supplied at that price.

If they take the money (actually fully 100% take it) they then have a contract with you to supply the goods, however Foris laptop thingies got out of it with the mistakes on websites clause.

It wont happen too often after argos's and kodaks fuckups beforehand.

However, please go ahead and try them if you wish. They will either supply the goods, or more likely refund you the money, or offer an alternative. You can't lose money by trying.

The rule of thumb is that you must genuinely believe that the goods are being offered at that price, and that the money must be taken out of your hands/account. There have been quite a few cases in the last few months.

It looks impressive, and how many people will jump to having one of those in your machine???

then you realise once you get it, you'll need to purchase a new motherboard capable of the 533FSB and probably DDR2700 memory (or even DDR3200 memory)

so instead of £200, you end up footing the bill of up to £450 :eek6:

it would be a nice addition to the ranks tho :D
