I was wondering if anyone else here made music themselves in whatever form and was up for posting it and seeing what other people thinks. I've got stuff I've done with bands and electronic stuff on my own I'd be up for posting and getting some critique on, or just bouncing ideas off each other. Anyone else?

I did some stuff ages ago, but:

A) It's shit.
B) It's shit.
C) It's shit.

So no.

;)

Chuck your stuff up though Scoobs, be interested to have a listen :)

I think charliealpha was the only one to ever come out of the musical closet. Everyone else here is a talentless spack, I think.

Hehe :D

Thing is, I was musically trained as a kid, and can/could play various instruments, but those tracks I did a few years back were basically me arsing around for the sake of it.

I wonder if I even still have the mp3s lying around somewhere on my hdd at home...

Ok first off is a band thing from about 2 years ago.

Production is a bit rough and ready and was more an exercise in what sort of quality could be got with a maximum of 3 mics.

All parts are seperately tracked. The electric guitar and electric bass are tracked direct. Acoustic guitar via a Shure SM57 direct into a Sony Oxford mixing desk. Vocals the same. Drums are recorded with a Shure SM57 on the kick and a pair of Shure SM58s above the snares for stereo seperation. The effects are dubbed on after direct from a TT. I'm playing guitar and doing the effects shiznits along with what production there is.

Any other questions I'm sure I can dig up the answers to.

Very good actually. Not 100% keen on the singers voice but it's very listenable. It's certainly not predictable like a lot of the rock fare we get at the moment.

I've been known to write a few songs but they aren't up to much. Well, I don't know, the absence of a band to try them out kinda limits their appeal. I've kept them around somewhere though.

I'm in a 4-piece band thats sorta like coldplay but with synths and a bit jumpier.

We have written 3 songs so far, none recorded as of yet though:(

That's real nice, Scoobs. :)

Never done anything especially creative musically, made up some piano pieces for a friend's band (think Anathema :) ) but nothing else.

Tell ya what Scoob, youve gone an impressed me there matey. The voaclist sounds a bit like his nads are trapped, but otherwise, good enough. :)

Top stuff :)

The singer's voice is slightly offputting at first, however when you've listened to the songs a couple of times, he deffinately grows on you

Not my OWN work, but my brother was in The Telescopes, a "Oh look we are indie and in NME all the time but no-one knows who the fuck we are even though we are no.9 in the indie chart for the 189th week running".

They did quite well for an indie band (I'm talking about when indie meant Independent not EMI subsidiary bollocks btw) and he's now a producer based in London doing stuff for Warp.

Cunt that he is :)

I like that A LOT, Scoobs but ditch the singer. He's painfully flat in places and seriously lacks passion and a sense of, I dunno... commitment.

Rocking musically, though.

Not heard anything by them actually. I'm just glad someone got the name plenty of time before the band's beginning with the word The craze came about :)
