Overcrowded Nightclub

I used to love going to a certain nightclub when it opened, but these days they pack as many people in on a friday and saturday as physically possible - it's just not fun any more, litterally can't move, impossible to get from a - b, can't dance, boiling hot, everywhere you stand you're in some cunts way...

I know nightclubs get busy, but when a place is blatantly twice over its legal capacity it really isnt fun :(

Now, say i wanted to erm, get things changed to how they used to be, what would be the best way of going about it?
I thought maybe a letter/phonecall to the council complaining that its a fire hazzard or summin...

I'm not being a fag here, it used to be the best place about, and i reckon it would be if they kept it at capacity again, then did a one in, one out queue on the door....

Ideas?

Poor donkeh, his thread has been hijacked.

I don't know whether going to the council would do much, I expect they have more to worry about than a nightclub. You could try suggesting it to the management, or do some sort of petition/get some mates to support you. It's rather irritating when a really good place gets shit like that.

LOL, bullshit alert! Councils don't do anything. Ever.

As for getting less people in a nightclub, the only chance would be talking to the management. But seriously, they're not exactly going to stop letting paying punters in are they.

I might be wrong, but Im sure there are laws saying that if 1 person makes a complaint about a building being a potential fire hazzard they need to make a report about it.
With that one burning down (in foreign) and killing half the people in there, I'm sure a well placed phonecall will work wonders.

I think a 'fire hazard' phone call/letter will do it tbh...

Maybe i should start a fire to prove a point, i'm going there tonight...

Oh, if there is a big fire, 1000 people bbq fest on the news tonight, it wasnt me....:(

The most likely outcome would be a warning, followed by the removal of the license for the premises if they infringed further.

I would have thought.

phoning the counsil would get you nowhere, starting a petition would get your head kicked in, and complaining to the management would probably get you barred. Try starting a fire or giving someone an overdose so that the paramedics cannot get to them. Of course these are just humorous suggestions and should not be taken seriously. How about a call to the fire investigators, I'm not sure if its the fire brigade itself or a seperate division but all businesses have to have their fire extinguishers checked by fire officers and the exits are checked to make sure they're clear. maybe they can enquire about fire saftey during opening hours at peak times.

But while we're on the subject I'd like to complain about the two nightclubs in our area that are extrememly crap. The music is shit the beer is expensive and the local talent is extremely lacking, any ideas? (besides travelling)

If you're considering not going anymore, or finding alternative clubs/pubs then chances are many are doing the same. I'd write a brief letter to the place outlining your concerns. If they have any business sense whatsoever, they'll consider the implications and adjust their policies to suit. The "more the punters in the door the better" approach is all well and good, but it's a bit short-sighted and will ultimately work against them.

Of course, that's all relative to the owner(s) concerned, some of them are utter cunts and care little about anything further than the next night. But, if as you say the club has been so good, it would suggest they have been receptive to customers in the past.

Heh, I'm a Norfolk boy too, give me a clue as to what Club you might be referring ;)

That is if you have the Time, and aren't shooting off to Chicago for some Liquid refreshment, or other distraction.

Nah, I'm more a country boy I'm afraid, and getting too old for this clubbing nonsense :p

On the rare occasions I make it into the city now it's usually for a quick beer and a bite to eat before home, and an early night I'm afraid

Revellers flee gas in city nightspot

More than 100 revellers fled a Norwich nightspot after a mystery gas was released
Police yesterday issued an appeal to the culprit to reveal what it was, as one of those affected has a lung condition and her doctors need the information to treat her.
The gas, which was let off in Brannigans nightclub at Riverside in the early hours of Sunday, is thought to have been some kind of pepper spray or CS gas. Some clubbers had stinging eyes and sore throats, while some asthmatics had attacks.
No one went to hospital.
Acting Chief Insp Tony Deacon of Norfolk Police said the attack could have had serious consequences.
Only one section of the club was affected, which was full with 1000 revellers, and it did not need to be fully evacuated.
Some of those affected were treated by St John Ambulance and paramedics.
Club Manager Stuart Gillette said his staff had responded well to the attack.
Contact Julie Wvendth at Norwich Police on 01603276691 or crimestoppers on 0800555111 with information
