Overclocking Question

From all the over clocking articles i have read, the one thing that stops the gf2 from being at it's full potential is memory bandwidth. They all say that the core is to fast for the memory.

So the question...
I have the core and mem overclocked, I was wondering if lowering my core speed again maybe defualt would create a lower surrounding tempreature to the card so i could boost my memory up higher? Or won't this make much of a difference?

Right thx for the help. I doubt that blue orb thing would go on my card, can you tell me the dimenions of this thing, I only have a small gap from my GFX card to my soundcard, can't move Soundcar down, no free pci slots.

I would be able to put heatsinks on my ram though, i have already fixed a ball bearing fan looking straight at my ram but it is only a botch job till i get something better sorted. Anyway, got from 175/183 to 190/192 useing a single fan (not fitted properly in any way) before i stopped because my 3d marks started to drop again. got to 3000 points.

Which set of Detenator drivers should i use, i recently updated to 10.something and the performance dropped in D3D but rose in OpenGL. Since most games i play run in D3D i was wondering which set of drivers are best (simply havn't got time to test them all) :D

I still use 6.18. They're fine for D3D :)
