Sorry if this has been through already but I couldnt find anything on it .

I've just reinstalled windows and my gfx drivers, previously I had an option in display/settings/advanced and then my geforce4 tab to adjust clock speeds, but since the reinstall this option is no longer there .

I've heard there is a way to enable this so that your able to use this overclocking tool .

Does anyone know or have any idea's as to what I need to do to make this happen ?

I'm on windows2k pro with serive pack3
The gfx cards an asus v8460 ultra deluxe (ti4600)
I previously had 40.72 gfx drivers and I still do
The only change in the system I can think of is the motherboard but I cant see that affecting it really .

I'd stick with the Asus drivers mate. They're quite a bit behind the nVidia but at least they don't install annoying shite like macrovision.

Also on your Asus CD there should be a Tweak Utility for overclocking. You can also get it off the Asus site but I can't be bothered to find it.

Cask is sadly misinformed here. Forget the manufacturers drivers and get them straight from the horse's moth. Asus' drivers will be well out of date, particularly the ones off your CD.

The nVidia 4x.xx drivers (ie version 41.09 on that webbeh) I believe have the option to force clock speeds. No need for PowerStrip, which is a bloated piece of unreliable crap, imo.

50% isn't bad though. Lets hope I do just as well on my maths exam in January!

Powerstrip is ok, but is getting a bit old now. The reason your stuff has dissapeared maybe because you didnt remove the old drivers first, i.e
add/remove programs
remove nvidea folder
restart
install new drivers.

Well may be anyway :)

Actually all ASUS do is rebrand theirs - all NVIDIA drivers add macrovision support btw but it's the DVD player application itself which installs a macrovision stack.

incidentally, the frequencies slider has to be removed in any WHQL candidates, so what may well have happened is you were previously running non-WHQL before, and have now moved up to a newer WHQL driver.

Thanks to every one for the advice btw :)

Well I don't know, and I don't really care.

But what I do know is that when using the nVidia drivers I'll get a purple rectangle on my TV-OUT, and using the same media players with the Asus drivers it will work fine.

So there you go.
