Overcharging on BG Items

Just looking for some peoples input, anybody out there know how much you can safely overcharge BG1 items (lvl26) by?

I am assuming it isnt the same rules that apply to lvl 51 items, but hope it is by 1, 2 or 3 points. Anyone got any experience of it?

2 point overcharge (on 99% items) is what I went for when I twinked my BG healer although I fluked a 4.5 point overcharge on my 1H hammer when I wasn't paying attention (had calculated gems for MP, not 99%).

I had access to an LGM SC at one point and did a successful 5.5 point o/c on a crafted cloak (level 1 item I think). All 99% gems of course.

You can do a 5.5 overcharge on ANY item of ANY quality.

The problem with overcharging BG equipment is there's not much proffit in it for the SC'er based on the time involved.

A typical L50 5.5 o/c set will take between 1hr and 2hrs to ensure all the gems are the correct level.

A typical L24 5.5 o/c will take a little less as the gems dont take aslong to make.

Ive recently imbued a set of 99 plate for my paladin in Thid with a 5.5 overcharge and loving it If you need the same done give me a /send in game, but based on the time needed to get the right gems, its not going to be cheap.

Somebody came to me wanting 5.5 OC on a BG set...he ran a mile when I quoted 900g for the set.

Some people think because you're a crafter that you have to be a registered charity too

I love people asking for lvl 20 mp weapons

But then I never accept MP orders, so it doesn't bother me at all

One could think that those getting lvl 20's using the /level command would know about the troubles getting stuff crafted in the first place

my 99 set of plate for Thid (red con) cost about 800G The SC part cost about 100 in materials, but if i was doing this for as a public order it would be alot more to cover the hours spent getting 99 gems.

If people want that uber twinked BG char, they should expect to pay for it

Incidently, a normal non overcharge SC, I charge materials+50% which is affordable for the normal Thid character.
