because GOA pulled the plug at 5 am this morning, officially closing down their DAOC EU service pr mythics request... go read the herald

Yes, it's because Japan have bombed Pearl Habour again using French-made aircraft carriers. The US Government is annoyed because the carriers didn't breakdown after 500km like all other French vehicles usually do, and have ordered all US companies to stop trading with French companies as a result.

are the servers down? tried to connect just now, started patching the US version, have changed the update.bat but now it wont connect. Looked on the herald site, cant see any info, so is this true about GOA closing the servers?.

I would figure it will be because of the hacking thingy, if it is true, but still want to read what Myhtic say and another thing...
