Steve Mclaren is probably the worst person England could have appointed in my opinion. The last two rounds in the UEFA Cup, he was lucky as fuck.

Big Sam, Alan Curbishley, Martin O'Neill, maybe even approached Arsene Wenger. A Scottish Jock such as Alex Ferguson or Gordon Strachan would do a better job, and they'd probably try and fuck up the team on purpose. :/

You seen the way Bolton play?
Curbishley maybe i agree.
O'Neill wasn't interested as his wife is ill.
Ferguson or Wenger weren't interested.
Strachan best place for him is in a crap league like Scotland.

Steve McClaren is the best english manager, however he shouldn't have been given the england job, no englishman should've. I'd have gone for Scolari, Hiddinck or o'Neill, at least they have a modicum of foreign experience and have actually won something decent! Unfortunately our media are a bunch of cocks, so Scolari said no thanks, and the FA are a bunch of fuckwits, so Hiddinck said fuck off. Not sure on O'Neill, although as JSP thinks, his wife may be ill still.

Oh, and as for wenger, we don't know if he was interested or not, David Dein decided already that he wasn't going for the job :wanker:

LOL Frizz. Ferguson? He would never manage England, and he's said it many a time. Wenger was apparently approached. Curbishley is a mid table manager at best.

I agree with Jingle, McClaren is probably the best English choice. Don't agree that O'Neil should even be in the running though.

The two Scotsman were only thrown in sarcastically. :/

And tbh, I don't care about how Bolton play. They finished 8th this season, whereas Boro finished 14th.

Sam Allardyce is a good manager, but I would prefer him to have experience at a bigger club... McClaren has had experience at Man Utd and the past 5(?) years as England assistant manager. As for the league form, you can put it down purely to boro's longer cup runs (FA and UEFA).

Agree, people are judging mclaren on a uefa cup run, over the 5 seasons they have done shit all in the league. He has been picked because he says yes. I love how the news of his affair came out before they offered him the job so funny. While he might be a good coach boro have never been tactically good where as Bolton have been.

Aye, plus the two jocks you mention are happy in their jobs at the mo, maybe Graeme Souness or Kenny Dalglish would have been better choices. Or Berti Voghts! Don't think's he's working at the mo.....

Voghts wasnt the best but atleast he showed you the importance of giving the young lads a go. Very good performance today btw nice to see Scotland score a few goals.
