I know about:

Everquest
Asherons call
Anarchy Online
SWG

Are there any options i dont know off that might compete with daoc?

Ultima Online, was good, I enjoyed playing for 2 years or so. after that came DAoC, next not sure I am still enjoying DAoC. SWG will have to be given a go, not sure about World of Warcraft or EVE. Horizons looks ok, the one where you get to play a Dragon .

I would suggest to anyone, that if possible, get in early to a new online game.

Play everything for the free month then pick the one you like best

No doubt going to WOW and Horizons and have sky-high expectations for both, but afaik they are not out yet? belive i will ditch swg. What is EVE?

Maby i should give dragon empires a go =)

Eve is like Elite, but online with thousands of players. If you still remember the cult game. Flying through space, mining, selling, pirating, socialising and so on.

All this talk of SWG and Dragon Empires and the rest, I do believe Everquest 2 is going to be a killer, and will probably be my next choice.
It has it all, and no one can say the team don't have any experience.

Those movies look amazing and that's the level of graphics you should be getting from your high-end system, which the DAOC engine manages to slow down.

Earth and beyond, an ok if somewhat limited space mmog. Is ok in small bursts though.
